Do What God Said/Says Challenge!

Do What God Said/Says Challenge!

There are quite a few challenges going on within the social media streets. Challenges can help people complete things that have been difficult for them to accomplish on their own. Well yesterday, I announced The Do What God Said/Says Challenge!

The Do What God Said/ Says Challenge began because of the desire to be consistent in obeying the Word! I know I am not the only one who has faced challenges being consistent in doing the Word of God. The fact is there are something’s that God has spoken to His children that His children have not obeyed or not consistently obeyed.

This challenge is after God’s heart. Throughout scripture we see how obeying God’s Word is important to God. In James 1:22, believers are admonished to be doers of the Word, and not hearers only. In fact in that very scripture we are told that by hearing the Word and not doing the Word, one is merely deceiving themselves.Jesus even asked the question, “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you? (Luke 6:46). Jesus is saying how can I be your Lord but you do not do what I say!

In John 14:23, Jesus states, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. Jesus has offered great direction in John 14:23. He is saying love Me through obeying my Word! We must remember the benefits in obeying God’s Word! For example, obeying God’s Word leads to blessings- “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it” (Luke 11:28)! The ultimate blessing comes through obeying the Word. Look at John 14:23 again. There is a promise that Father God will love those that love Jesus and obey the Word. There is a promise that the triune God will will come and dwell with those who obey.

God does not want us to be deceived- if He gives direction He expects His children to obey. What makes us think that obeying God is an option? Jesus did not make obeying God optional, so neither will we.

Here’s the prayer—- Lord, forgive us for all sins of omission and commission. Forgive us for any area of disobedience that we have enacted through not fully obeying your Word! Give us strength and grace to obey because truly your thoughts toward us are good and you desire for us to have a hope and future. Let us find safety in our obedience. Let our obedience be a sweet fragrance to you- let our obedience to sacrifice our will for yours be pleasing and acceptable to You oh mighty God. In Jesus name we pray! Amen!!!

So, join me on this Do What God Said/Says Challenge. Let’s be focused on being doers of the Word!

Here are the rules:

1. Identify something God has instructed you to do, but you have not done or have not been consistent in doing.

2. For the next 3 days (today, tomorrow, and the next day) do what God said. Be intentional! Do not let anything keep you from being obedient. (Whatever day you are reading this begins your day 1, begin today even if we are on a different day. Do not wait to start on a different day. Although this three day journey begins again every three days, tomorrow is not promised—start today.)

3. On the 4th day you self- assess and see how you did. If you were consistent praise God. Ask God what is next ( He may tell you to add/subtract something or he even may just say keep going- what ever God says set your heart to obey).

Now, if you fell off one day and did not obey, repent and begin again today and set your face like a flint to be obedient. No condemnation! Just begin again and begin today.

On the 4th day, you will start again or continue practicing obedience for the next 3 days.

Consistency is a challenge for many, but God requires obedience so if we struggle being consistent in our obedience we (by God’s grace) must get it together!

Children of God!!!!! Let’s level up in our obedience and consistency in our obedience! We have Kingdom work to do!!!

I pray that God gives us grace to obey and that every distraction and hinderance to our obedience and consistent obedience is broken off today. In Jesus name, I pray!!! Amen!!!
