Body of Christ, Jesus has already told His church to expect persecution (Matthew 10: 16-18). Jesus said, "A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you" (John 15:20). Even Apostle Paul instructed the church to not " be moved by these afflictions". He said, "For you yourselves know that we are destined for this. For when we were with you, we kept telling you beforehand that we were to suffer affliction, just as it has come to pass and just as you know (1 Thessalonians 3:3–4).
We pray for every believer who is currently and who will experience persecution for their faith and obedience to Jesus, and we remind ourselves of our Lord and Savior's promise.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matthew 5:10-12).
