The Secret Place Ministry is the most important ministry there is. I know this because God told me to be less like Martha and more like Mary. He said Martha is good, but Mary is best. He might have said that because His desire is to have relationship with His children or even because we can truly only serve Him through the strength we get from Him. Regardless of the reason, Martha and Mary both ministered to Jesus. One worked to serve Him/work for Him, and the other spent time with Him. Both of their ministries are important, but the ministry of having intimate time with God is best!

As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one.[a] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:38-42
In the Secret Place we are prepared to enter into God’s sanctuary and minister to Him.
They shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall come near to my table, to minister unto me, and they shall keep my charge. Eziekel 44:16
In the Secret Place we get to Know God and be Known by God. The Secret Place is the place of time in God’s presence and intimacy with God. Let's not neglect time in the presence of God. I can say this because when I took the Seven Churches Self-Assessment @thelordside.com (under Free menu), I found myself in the Loveless Church. Please go and take some time to see what Church(es) or church attributes may apply to you. Then quickly repent. Jesus is coming soon. Continual self-assessment helps us keep oil in our lamps.
Seriously, this tool is a gift from God that can help His children check their eternal temperature and get back in line if they are not doing well eternally. For instance, Jesus threatened to remove the lamp stand of those who are members of the Loveless Church unless they repented (Revelation 2: 1-7). Guess what I did—I repented and now my eyes are open to the tricks and triggers that would try to cause me to serve God more in my work for Him than in my ministry to Him in the Secret Place.
